Laboratories Developed:
- Construction Materials Laboratory: The facility has been developed to support teaching, research and industry services. In addition to the basic quality control and characterization tests for concrete, cement, bitumen, aggregates, bricks and concrete blocks, the laboratory has state-of-the-art infrastructrue to support the testing of fibre reinforced concrete as per relevant ASTM and EN standards. The laboratory is currently being developed to support advanced thermal characterization of construction materials, testing of mass concrete, prestressing strands and NDT of steel and concrete structures.
- Structural Analysis Laboratory: This is a UG teaching laboratory developed to demonstrate the structural behaviour of basic elements and systems. The experimental setups are equipped with sensors connected to desktop computers through dedicated data acquisition systems to facilitate the study of force and displacement responses.
