Field Experience:
Extensive Geological field work in Himalaya from Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Mizoram; Central India & Delhi.
- Areas explored in Arunachal Pradesh are from Bhalukpong where MBT is clearly visible, to Tawang where Paro group of rocks (Gneisses) are visible in the N-S transect. While in the E-W trend the places that have been explored are Kameng, Subansiri, Disang and Lohit valley where rocks of Ladakh plutionic groups are also visible.
- While in Nagaland (From Dimapur to Kohima) and Mizoram, the Sandstones, Siltstones and Shale of Disang, Brail and Tipam are clearly visible along the road transects.
- Sikkim is the most beautiful place with scenic Tsangpo Lake in eastern side bordering China and Bhutan. Tista flows across various rock types such as Augen Gneisses in Mangan, Rangpo area, Calc-Silicates in Rongli side with copper enrichment in Singtam area and Lingtse gneisses are seen in Gangtok area.
- Uttarakhand and Himachal area were explored mainly for site selection for hydro electric power plants, dam, weir, HRT, quarry site. Most places along Alaknanda, Bhilangna, Mandakini rivers are covered in Uttarakhand. While in Himachal the geological studies were carried out mostly along Sutlej River. Other places being Manali, Rohtang (both have high grade metamorphic), Keylong, Tandi, Seli, Dugar (Low grade metamorphic).
- Landslide/ Slope stability studies were carried out in Jammu area from Batote (Mudstones of Muree formations), Prem Nagar (Serichite Schists), Doda (low grade metamorphics), Urnihal (Gneisses), Kishtwar (Lesser Himalaya sequence). GPR and resistivity studies were also carried out on landslides whose total station survey was also done.
- Field Trip for Ground Water Sampling with on-spot testing with Geophysical surveys, in Chattisgarh, was done from Rajnandgaon (Sandstones), Khairagarh (volcanics), Dongargarh (Granites) Ambagarh Chowki (Genisses), Kaudikasa (Rhyolites), Bodal (Uranium mines in Basaltic terrain), Manpur, Mohla (Igneous rocks) and Kanker.
- Geophysical, geotechnical, utility, and archaeological mapping in Delhi, Jodhpur, Konark area. GPR survey of Imja lake moraine (Near Mt. Everest base camp), Khumbu region, Nepal.
